CFHN recognizes a gap in funding for mental health issues for residents in Halton Hills and Milton and has established the Mental Wellness Fund.
Everlasting support is required to fund mental health initiatives in North Halton. CFHN’s current priority is on programs that are making an impact on behaviours of children and youth. Through CFHN you can establish a legacy gift to support mental health causes that will benefit your community now and for generations to come.
Physical activity in childhood is essential for healthy brain development and leads to improved brain functions. Most importantly for mental health, healthy brain development provides greater ability to cope with anxiety and depressive symptoms as well as improved self-esteem and self-worth. The decline in child physical health appears to correlate with the high rates of youth experience of anxiety and depression.
If children learn to express emotions constructively and engage in caring and respectful relationships before and while they are in their lower elementary grades, they are more likely to avoid depression, violence, and other serious mental health problems as they grow older.
CFHN works with individuals, families, and organizations and together, we will improve the mental health of children and youth in our community. If you have a charitable interest aligned with mental health, consider a gift directed to our Mental Wellness Fund.
