On Saturday October 2, the Community Foundation of Halton North (CFHN) hosted Webathon 2021 and reached its goal of $100,000. This event was a hybrid event, combining CFHN’s physical presenceat both the Milton and Georgetown Farmers’ Markets and at the new home of CFHN, with an online celebration on a platform called Pheedloop featuring local charities.
The online virtual piece of Webathon 2021 included 10 hours of programming, exhibiting a series of interviews and videos. It highlighted the work of CFHN, local participating charities, generous sponsors and the importance of these coordinated efforts within the community.
Each charity had exclusive time during Webathon 2021 to feature the work they do through stories and videos.
Charities included:
- Halton Learning Foundation
- Community Living North Halton
- ROCK
- Halton Hills Public Library
- Milton District Hospital Foundation
- Townsend-Smith Foundation
- Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton
- ArtSpark through the Town of Milton
- Links2Care
Webathon 2021 was an exciting initiative as its goal was to bring together Halton Hills and Milton’s elected officials, representatives of CFHN, many local charities and residents.
One of CFHN’s goals is to educate the public on the importance of providing everlasting support and to continue growing endowments that are granted back into the community every year. Darryl Demille, board member added, “CFHN also makes it very convenient to donate once knowing it will flow throughout the community to many causes, now and forever.”
G. Bradford (Brad) Clements, Chair of the CFHN board, was enthusiastic about the event, which marks CFHN’s 10 years.
“The Board of CFHN was pleased to lead this first ever Webathon that will provide support to many charities serving Halton Hills and Milton.”
